Eleanore (GER) - Between here and anywhere

I've had this band on my radar since 2023 because they deliver such wonderful acoustic time capsules of the 90s, without major compromises, everything perfectly balanced with Olli's unmistakable voice, which sadly fell silent far too soon. This album is therefore the "Highway to Hell" album for this band from Emden.

Everything just fits perfectly on this record; the songs have the right intensity, the right groove, and the right timing for the changes in dynamics, mood, or rhythm. The band has significantly improved upon their musical idols; they've eliminated the sometimes pointless jams of Kyuss, and if it's supposed to rock like "Fu Manchu," then the song rocks continuously like "Rail Tracks." If it's supposed to be gritty, then there's a top-notch sludge track like "Oh Lord." These few examples show that the band has a clear vision of the direction their music should take. It would be great to see the band playing some open-air festivals in southern Germany this summer.
