We Stood Like Kings (BEL) - Assassins

I actually hate the sound of a piano because it lacks midrange frequencies and the sound is thin despite the instrument's immense weight. It actually makes me aggressive, except for Elton John's "Song for Guy." The Belgian band "We Stood Like King" uses the piano as the lead vocalist, much like Brian Johnson of AC/DC is the saxophone in a blues-rock band. And you know what? This damn piano plays such beautiful melodies within this sometimes brutal sound, which, in my opinion, will be far too big for the stages this fantastic band will have to play on for the next two or three years. This is music that belongs in old cinemas, with the piano in the auditorium, the band on stage, and black-and-white silent films projected behind them. And we, the spectators, sit in plush armchairs, our neck muscles aching with fear, staring spellbound at this band that manages to create a complete mixtape in just four minutes. It's a shame we have to wait until 10th of April for the full album.
